Primrose Water Feature Store. L30cm Wide Arc Stainless Steel Waterfall Blade Cascade. Primrose Ambienté Fountain Care – Dual Pack De-Icer and Water Cleaner. This innovative water feature alters the flow of the water in such a way that results in a gorgeous blade of water which cascades as a beautiful sheet into a pool or reservoir below. This gives the impression of a perfect sheet or curtain of water which is great for complimenting modern gardens, and can be illuminated at night to great effect with an LED kit or spotlights. Easy to install, a hose can be connected to the cascade blade and mounted on or in a wall. It can easily be built into a wall, or attached with strong glue or welded to a variety of other surfaces. When mounted above a pond, this feature becomes a gorgeous waterfall which even oxygenates the water below. It can also be mounted above a reservoir or pebble pool where the water appears to vanish beneath the ground before being recycled back through the pump. Mains Power vs Solar Power. The traditional way to install a water feature is to connect it to your main power supply, although solar powered water features are a great option, there are also benefits to choosing a mains powered feature. Power is better to effectively run larger water features. These tend to have higher energy requirements, so a mains connection is required for reliable usage. Solar powered features are great for smaller features and birdbaths as they usually require less power. Mains powered water features allow for prolonged use. Solar panels only last as long as they have stored up power and will only work if there is good weather. Mains powered water features will work in any weather and in limited sunlight. Tips on Installation and Maintenance. A lot of water features come pre-assembled for the most part, with just a little hose/pump connecting to do before plugging it in to a mains socket. Some of our bigger ones require wiring in a plug (which might involve a Part P Certified electrician), but otherwise all instructions will be included. To create our high specification, long-lasting water features, we use 304-grade stainless steel which contains high levels of chromium making it resistant to corrosion. Stainless steel is very resistant to rust because the chromium in the metal reacts with oxygen to form a protective layer. If this layer is broken down by mechanical damage or a powerful cleaning agent and rust does appear, simply remove the rust and the chromium oxide layer will reform. As well as it’s hard-wearing features, grade 304 stainless steel is perfect for both contemporary and classical water feature designs, the highly polished finish of stainless steel is great for reflecting light into shaded areas of the garden. If the feature has a reservoir that requires sinking underground, then the ground can be marked out to the exact size using perhaps a stick, gravel or sand. Sit the reservoir in the hole and make sure it is level. If you have enough room sit the pump on a flat stone so that it is not on the bottom of the reservoir and so helping the pump stay clear. Why do some Water Features come without a plug? We don’t always supply a plug with a water feature, it depends on the product, style of feature, pump supplied and likely location that the product maybe installed. All of our products are designed for ease of installation there are however, a specific set of rules set out by the building regulations which must be adhered too: “Building Regulations – Part P” this is a government directive which states that any NEW PERMANENT household or garden electrical supply must be installed by a competent Part P Certified electrician. Some of our products wont require a permanent installation, its worth considering a number of things in order to ensure you safely install your feature or seek the help and advice of a qualified electrician. Where are you going to place your product? Is there available power in the garden? – Outdoor sockets for example. Will it permanently be in this location? Do you have existing power in the garden near the location. If in any doubt seek the advice of a Part P Certified electrician. Full details of Part P available.
