The Modena 21kw Wood Burning Stove with Back Boiler.. The back boiler can be used to heat domestic hot water and central heating with an output of 14kw to the back boiler and 7kw to space heating. The Modena offers a traditional wood burning stove style, but with clean straight lines that give the Modena a more modern appearance than the traditional cast iron stove with swirly patterns. Maunfactured in Europe and finished to a very high standard from steel, that unlike cast iron won’t crack, break or melt, the Modena is finished in dark contemporary grey with silver handles and controls. The Modena offers a “huge” maximum output of 21kw, which is distributed at 14kw to the back boiler and 7kw to space heating. The Modena incorporates a spacious firebox which is capable of taking very large logs and an advanced pre-heat air wash system helps to keep the large ceramic glass window clean and provide a clear, warming view of the flames. The large firebox / combustion chamber is partially lined with firebricks to provide optimum heating efficiency and a solid fuel grate enables easy lighting. Other features include a generous “deep” ash pan for ease of cleaning and maintenance. The Modena Back boiler will power up to 10 -12 radiators, based on an “average” calculation of 3000 BTU’s per radiator. In a typical dwelling some radiators will require more than 3000 BTU’s and some will require less. The back boiler contains two water connections, both of which are located on the rear of the stove, one above the other and comprise of 1 x flow and 1 x return water feed, both connections are 1 inch BSP which can simply be connected to 15mm, 22mm, or 28mm metric pipe work. The stylish Modena also has the benefit of one primary control and two secondary control air vents to provide optimum control over the burn rate and temperature output.
